Water and energy conservation

We uphold a strong commitment to water and energy conservation in our projects, integrating sustainable practices throughout the entire project lifecycle. We employ advanced technologies and best practices to optimize water usage and reduce our environmental footprint. In terms of water conservation, we prioritize the implementation of innovative solutions tailored to each project's specific needs. This includes the utilization of water recycling and reuse systems, enabling us to minimize freshwater consumption by treating and repurposing water from various sources within the mining operations. Additionally, we implement responsible water management practices, conducting regular monitoring and assessment of water usage, quality, and availability to proactively identify opportunities for conservation.

In the realm of energy conservation, we actively seek energy-efficient solutions to reduce our carbon footprint. This includes the adoption of energy-efficient equipment and machinery, such as Micro grid Intelligent Monitoring Platform System, to optimize energy consumption during our operations. We also prioritize the integration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, into our projects wherever feasible. This not only reduces our reliance on fossil fuels but also contributes to the development of a more sustainable energy infrastructure.

Furthermore, we implement comprehensive energy management strategies that encompass energy audits, benchmarking, and continuous monitoring to identify areas of improvement and implement energy-saving measures. These measures may include energy saving policies, as well as promoting energy awareness and conservation practices among our employees by the means of staff meetings, training sessions, incentives to employees and many more.

 Land Rehabilitation

At PTGM we are deeply committed to land rehabilitation as an essential aspect of our sustainability efforts. We recognize the impact that our operations can have on the land and the importance of rehabilitating and restoring it to its natural state. Our commitment to land conservation is beyond the regulatory requirements, as we strive to go above and beyond in revitalizing the areas affected by our activities.

We employ a comprehensive approach to land rehabilitation, incorporating scientifically sound techniques, and working closely with environmental experts and local stakeholders. Our goal is to minimize the long-term ecological impact of our operations and leave a positive legacy for future generations. We actively engage in reforestation efforts, soil erosion control, and the reintroduction of native flora and fauna to promote biodiversity and restore ecosystem balance. By actively rehabilitating and restoring the land, we aim to create sustainable ecosystems, preserve biodiversity, and contribute to the overall well-being of the communities and environments in which we operate. We have developed an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) which we also support by the approval of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (EPBC Act), EPBC 2017-8124.

Reduce Carbon Emission

PTGM concerns the urgent need to address climate change and reduce carbon footprint. Our goal is to transition to a zero-emission operation by implementing innovative technologies, adopting renewable energy sources, and optimizing energy efficiency across our projects.

We are investing in the development and deployment of low-carbon and zero-emission technologies, such as electrification of equipment and vehicles, renewable energy generation, and energy storage solutions. By embracing these technologies, we aim to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with our operations.

Our commitment to zero emissions extends beyond our direct activities. We also seek to work collaboratively with our supply chain partners to encourage emission reductions throughout the value chain. Through stringent emission monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and the integration of best practices, we aim to ensure that our operations align with the highest environmental standards.

Achieving zero emission is a challenging yet crucial objective for us. We continually assess and implement innovative solutions to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future. Emission in Yogi mainly initiated from Mining and Power Generation.

Mining operations can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions through a variety of sources, including our commitment to GHGMP (Greenhouse Gas Management Plan), use of fossil fuels for power generation, transportation, and equipment operation.

Improving energy efficiency, using renewable energy sources, reducing waste, and improving recycling, and adopting low-emission technologies such as Wind Harvesting and Solar Farm.
